Caitlin Clark Becomes Highest Scoring Women’s College Basketball Player in History

When Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark scored her 3,650th point in her collegiate career on Wednesday night vs. Minnesota, she officially broke the scoring record for all of women’s college basketball history.

This milestone pushed her past Lynette Woodard’s record of 3,649 points. Woodard’s record was held before the NCAA established women’s basketball championships.

Clark now has the overall women’s college basketball scoring record, along with the NCAA women’s basketball record, the Big Ten women’s basketball record and Iowa’s program record. That’s quite the resume for the senior guard, and it’s already been a huge season for her.

Clark had a monster night on Wednesday, starting out strong by scoring Iowa’s first 15 points. From there she continued to dominate, finishing with 33 points. She secured a second consecutive triple-double as she also tacked on 12 assists and 10 rebounds as well.

The 22-year-old also broke the record for the most three-pointers in Big Ten’s women’s basketball history.
